The National Statistics Bureau is pleased to release the Quarterly Gross Domestic Product,
Second Quarter (Q2) 2025.

Key Highlights:
1. Economic Performance (GDP)
 The economy size was estimated at Nu. 77,894.11 million in Q2 2025.
Real GDP grew by 9.63 percent year-on-year, an increase of Nu. 9,807.89
million at current prices compared to the same quarter last year.

2. Sectoral Growth
Primary sector: Grew 3.07 percent, with GVA of Nu. 10,053.09 million.
Secondary sector: Expanded strongly by 12.97 percent, with GVA of Nu.
24,983.96 million.
Tertiary sector: Grew 9.30 percent, contributing Nu. 42,857.06 million.

3. Structure of the Economy
Tertiary sector (Services): 55.02 percent;
Secondary sector (Industry): 32.07 percent; and
Primary sector (Agriculture): 12.91 Percent.

Service sector remains the largest contributor to the economy.

The headline inflation in July increased to 3.64 percent. This increase was mainly driven by increase in both the Food and Non-food indices.
